WHAT “TYPE” OF PERSON ARE THEY?
Picking the perfect typeface for your business, organization, or campaign should be done carefully and with much consideration, as it directly affects the feelings consumers have when they see your brand. Type lets them know a bit more about your personality and the essence of who you are – the most powerful component to establishing and strengthening a connection to your brand!
Today at Insight we wanted to figure out just what “type” of people we are working with, so we selected a typeface that best suited them, and explained why.
Jodi chose Tyler and gave him “Ringo” by Polish type designer, Łukasz Dziedzic. It has smooth letterforms with a nice edge every bump or two. With a fun and fresh feel, that is also somehow refined and elegant, this typeface is modern, interesting and a bit funky.
For Mark, Kirk selected “Antonio” by designer Vernon Adams. Mark is a true professional and is sharp in every sense of the word. He decided on bold weight, and a tightened up kerning, so it would look great as a movie title, on a business card, or a variety of other different applications that relate to the kind of work Mark does.
Finally, Nadia picked “Libby bold” from, Matthew Welch for Courtney. It is a strong and modern font that speaks to the stability that Courtney brings as the “office mom”. The shaper edges reminds her of Courtney’s sharp wit, while the softness of the curves reflect the compassionate side of her as well.
Type is the voice of your brand so make sure you understand both what you want to achieve and convey before you make the big decision.
